Design controls
Adjust slide format, layout, backgrounds, visual elements, and global design settings.
Design controls help you refine the look of a carousel after generation.
Available controls depend on the slide type and template, but the editor supports format changes, slide-level adjustments, global settings, and element-level edits.
Slide format
Use the format control when you need a different output size. The editor uses the selected format when previewing and exporting.
Slide and element controls
Depending on the selected slide or element, you can adjust settings such as:
- Text content.
- Position and sizing.
- Backgrounds.
- Layout and spacing.
- Visual elements.
- Button treatment, size, corners, borders, and colors when the selected block supports button styling.
Make design changes after the message is clear. It is easier to polish a strong deck than to rescue a confusing one with styling.
Color controls now use a shared picker across the editor. Depending on the control, you can enter a hex value, adjust opacity, use the visual picker, or choose colors detected from the current slide and carousel.
Selected text can use custom colors instead of only fixed preset swatches. When a text selection is active, the editor can also apply inline highlight, font, size, weight, bold, italic, underline, or clear-formatting changes to just that selection.
For supported remix blocks, the properties panel can also change block text, background color, and border color without regenerating the slide.
Backgrounds
Slides and global settings can use solid colors, gradients, images, or Background Art.
Background Art gives you curated vector patterns such as frames, grids, lines, waves, arrows, dots, circles, and photo-safe accents. Open the Background Art gallery to search, filter by family or slide use, and choose a preset.
Use Brand Kit colors when you want the art to follow the carousel theme. Use Original colors when you want the preset's designed palette. You can also adjust whether the art fills or fits the slide and lower the intensity when the pattern competes with the content.
Position and spacing
Use position and spacing controls when a selected element needs a cleaner placement inside the slide. The editor also supports dragging existing elements to reorder them on the current slide, and supported elements can be moved between slides by dragging them into a different slide area.
Global settings
Global settings apply across the carousel. Use them for deck-wide choices such as shared background behavior, content scale, and the SlideDrift export banner setting.
The Typography section lets you choose deck-wide heading and body fonts for themed text. You can start from font packs such as Clean SaaS, Bold Creator, Editorial, Luxury, Technical, Friendly, Minimal, and Premium Startup, or choose heading and body fonts separately.
Heading fonts are used for titles and slide hooks. Body fonts are used for paragraphs and supporting text. New themed text follows these global choices, and supported generated, shared, and exported views load the selected Google fonts when they are used in the carousel.
Global settings also includes the editor onboarding replay toggle when the guided tips are available for the current carousel.
